West Brom look set to beat Birmingham City to the signing of Salford striker Brandon Thomas-Asante, according to reports.
Birmingham had agreed a fee with the League Two club to sign the player but it appears they have been pipped at the post by the Baggies at the 11th hour.
It was reported earlier today that Birmingham would likely be able to seal a move for Thomas-Asante after the club came to an agreement regarding the transfer fee.
The player, however, is now linked with a move to the Hawthorns and is reportedly undergoing a medical with the Championship club.

Thomas-Asante is a rising star in the EFL and the former MK Dons man has gone from strength to strength over the last couple of seasons with Salford.
He has already hit five goals in six games in all competitions with the Ammies in 2022/23 with four of those coming in the fourth tier.
The 23-year-old hit 13 goals in 46 matches in all comps last season and has added a physicality to his game, making him one of the hottest properties in the lower leagues.
Salford have made an excellent start to the new campaign and currently sit fourth in League Two, facing Crawley at home this weekend.
