Doncaster are leading the charge to sign Coventry City forward Amadou Bakayoko, according to reports.
The former Walsall frontman is not in Mark Robins’ immediate plans with the Sky Blues sitting 18th in the Championship and Donny are now expected to beat Swindon to his signature.
Doncaster have had an excellent season so far under the stewardship of Darren Moore. They are sitting on the cusp of the automatic promotion places having won six of their last seven matches.
They are now 5th in the third tier table with games in hand on those above them which could see them move top of the pack if they pick up maximum points in all of them.
According to Alan Nixon, they are looking to land Bakayoko from Coventry and now ahead of fellow League One side Swindon in the race for his signature.
The 25-year-old has only made eight appearances for the Sky Blues this season but netted 11 times in 54 games for them during their time in the third tier.
Doncaster take on struggling Wimbledon at home on Tuesday looking to make it three straight wins as they hope to continue their excellent promotion form.
