Conor McGrandles, contrary to reports, does not favour a move back to Scotland but is exploring options in the EFL according to his agent.
The ex-Lincoln City star departed the Imps when his contract expired at the end of the 2021/22 season. It was widely reported by numerous outlets that Conor’s representative had informed Lincoln City that a return to his native Scotland was his intention.

However, according to his agent, Conor has never favoured a return and instead is considering his options to stay in the EFL. It is believed Lincoln City were aware of his intentions to see out his contract at the end of the 20/21 season, deciding to sign Lasse Sorenson as an understudy.

The former MK Dons and Falkirk player, who plays as a combative box-to-box midfielder often filled in for the injured Liam Bridcutt in the defensive holding role last season.

He appeared 77 times for the Imps including during their impressive run to the play-off final that ended in defeat against Blackpool at Wembley. Last season did not, however, go to plan with the Imps failing to push on from their impressive 2020/21 campaign, to finish in 17th.

Numerous clubs have been linked with the free agent including, Portsmouth, Peterborough, Blackpool (now managed by ex-Imps manager Michael Appleton), Bristol City as well as Kilmarnock.

It would be a difficult pill to swallow for Lincoln fans to see Conor move to another League One club although very few fans would begrudge him the chance to play in England’s second division should an offer materialise.
