Arsenal midfielder James Olayinka is set for a deadline day switch to Cheltenham Town on a permanent transfer, according to reports.

The 21-year-old has played EFL football in the past having spent time on loan at Northampton Town and Southend United, but the Robins will be delighted to make the deal permanent.

Wade Elliott’s side have struggled to start the season, winning only once in the league when they beat Exeter 1-0 at St James Park.

They were unlucky not to pick up at least a point against Oxford where an awful refereeing decision saw them robbed of a draw when Matt Taylor won a late penalty for the visitors.

Alfie May and Dan Nlundulu both played well in that match and, according to Gloucestershire Live, they are about to add another player in James Olayinka, who can cause teams problems.

He was part of Keith Curle’s Northampton side that won promotion from League Two and featured in the play-offs against the Robins during that campaign.

He also had a spell on loan at Southend United, making 20 appearances in League Two for the Shrimpers, scoring twice.

Cheltenham are also looking to add a player on loan according to Jon Palmer as the team prepares to take on Port Vale this weekend.
