Tranmere Rovers have signed winger Liam Feeney on loan from Blackpool until the end of the season.

The 33-year-old was excellent at Bloomfield Road last season, registering 17-assists in all competitions and helping supply numerous crosses for the celestial leaps of Armand Gnanduillet.

His arrival at Prenton Park can surely be considered a coup given how creative he was in League One last season and Michael Jackson has declared himself delighted with the addition.

“He brings great experience and good options to the team in the final third. Liam had the highest number of assists across all three leagues last season, and he is a great signing and adds more competition for places in the team,” Jackson told the official website after confirming the deal.

“We need experience in the final third and he will bring a calmness to that area. I have said before the final third is the hardest area of the pitch and he will prove to be a good asset.

“A lot of time and effort has gone into making this move happen. Tranmere Rovers is an attractive football club to come and play for and we should never come away from that.

“We are a proud and a successful club and we want to build a team that will bring more success to Tranmere Rovers and a team the fans will be proud of.

“Liam comes across very well and he is hungry to succeed. He has the ability to play off both the left and right-hand side, and he also played wing back last season too.

“He is a bit behind the rest of the team in terms of fitness, but we will be working hard with him. Liam is a great addition to the team and we are looking forward to working with him.”

His stats from last season are what Tranmere fans should be excited about. Below are what he achieved in the league during 2019-20:
