Lincoln City will be full of confidence as they visit former National League title rivals Forest Green at the New Lawn.
The Imps, still sat top of the Sky Bet League Two table, scored a 96th minute equaliser on Tuesday night against Exeter to extend their lead at the top.
John Akinde’s 13th goal of the season came in the form of a scuffed effort that crept past Christie Pym at his near post.
Forest Green are also having a better season than last. Their 2017/2018 campaign focussed on keeping the side in the Football League, but now Mark Cooper has them challenging for a play-off spot.
FGR currently sit in seventh just a point ahead of Carlisle directly below them. Rovers are also just seven points away from the last automatic promotion place, currently held by Mansfield.
Danny Cowley has had an incredible run against Forest Green since taking over at Sincil Bank having played them five times and winning all five.
Most notably, this fixture in the National League saw Forest Green race into a two goal lead and look dead certain to go 12 points clear at the top of the division.
Goals from Alex Woodyard, Luke Waterfall and then spectacularly Sean Raggett saw the Imps win 3-2 – a real catalyst for their title win.
This season the Imps have already tasted victory against Forest Green. Akinde opened the scoring at Sincil Bank with a delightful chip.
Reece Brown equalised just minutes later before the game was decided by a substitute. Former loanee from Derby County, Kellan Gordon, scored the winner just seconds after entering the pitch.
Expected City 11:
Gilks, Eardley, Bostwick, Shackell, Toffolo, O’Connor, Pett, Anderson, Andrade, Rhead, Akinde.
