Lincoln City will be looking to move one step closer to promotion as they face bogey side Crawley Town.

The Imps have not beaten Crawley since their return to the Football League. The Red Devil’s also boast the record of being the only team to have won at Sincil Bank this season.

Danny Cowley’s side sit top of Sky Bet League Two, six clear of challengers Bury.

The Shakers do have a game in hand however as their game against Cambridge was postponed last Saturday.

Lincoln come into the tie in relatively good form having picked up a point away at Mansfield Town.

Imps fans were thinking the worst when they went a goal down within three minutes but up stepped John Akinde to convert once again.

1-1 was how it finished, but the Imps looked closest to winning with Andrade testing Conrad Logan late on.

Crawley are not enjoying their finest season in League Two. Sitting in 18th place, not troubling the top seven but also not threatening to slide down a division.

Crawley come into the game after one of their worst performances of the season. Despite taking the lead at Gresty Road through an Ollie Palmer penalty, they went on to concede six times and lose 6-1.

The earlier fixture saw Crawley come away with the maximum points after a Michael Bostwick own goal handed the Imps a first home league defeat of the season. The only to date.

Cowley has struggled to beat Crawley with former boss Harry Kewell also taking four points from the Imps last season. A frustrating 0-0 draw at Sincil Bank was followed by an emphatic 3-1 win down in Crawley.

Predicted Imps XI:
Gilks, Eardley, Bostwick, Bolger, Toffolo, O’Connor, Pett, Anderson, Andrade, Rowe, Akinde.
