Swindon Town look set to miss out of the signing Diallang Jaiyesimi as Championship outfit Brentford are taking an interest.

The winger was released by Norwich City this summer and has remained a target for the Robins after impressing while on loan at the County Ground this season.

The 22-year-old netted five times in 23 league appearances after recovering from injury to become a key member of Richie Wellens’s title-winning side.

It was hoped that the club would be able to sign him on a free this summer and that still remains possible but, according to Alan Nixon, Brentford are also keen to bring the player to West London which could see the newly-promoted League One side miss out.

The Bees could be playing in the Premier League next season after beating Derby County on Saturday to keep the pressure on both West Brom and Leeds.

Brentford have a very successful recruitment policy with a strong record of signing players who have impressed in League One and Two, and developing them further.

Swindon have already seen last season’s top scorer Eoin Doyle leave this summer, with the Irishman joining Bolton Wanderers on a three-year deal. They will be keen to get Jaiyesimi back for 2020/21, but it may not be in their hands.
