Sunderland are considering a move to sign Leeds United full-back Lewie Coyle who is currently on loan at Fleetwood Town.
The talented right-back has been extremely impressive during his extended loan move on the Fylde Coast and has been attracting the attention of a number of clubs.
With Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa indicating the player does not feature in his plans, Sunderland are hoping to bring the 24-year-old to the Stadium of Light.
The player’s contract is expiring in the summer and Leeds will be willing to listen to offers for the Hull-born defender.
Sunderland. Watching Lewis Coyle. Leeds right back on loan at Fleetwood. Out of contract in summer. So Leeds May want cash for him now.

According to Alan Nixon, Sunderland have been monitoring his progress closely with a view to add him to their squad during January. The full-back positions have been problematic for the Black Cats, often seeing midfielder Luke O’Nien duputise at right-back but Coyle would be an ideal addition.
He has been with the Cod Army for the last two-and-a-half seasons on loan and has developed into one of the best players in his position in the third tier.
Sunderland are also looking to sign Sheffield Wednesday striker Sam Winnall, another player with a wealth of League One experience.
Phil Parkinson’s side are currently on a five-match unbeaten run and will be hoping to strengthen ahead of the run-in. They currently sit just two points outside the play-off places with a game in hand on sixth place Peterborough.
