Bristol City are interested in Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, according to media reports.

The Championship club have a record of raiding sides in the divisions below to bag talented young players and they appear to be lining up another move ahead of deadline day.

Dele-Bashiru has made four appearances this season for Darren Moore’s side, netting twice on the opening day of the season against Portsmouth in an entertaining 3-3 draw.

He was instrumental in Sheffield Wednesday’s 3-0 win against Rochdale in the Caraboa Cup, bagging a goal and two assists to add to his season’s tally.

Accoring to a report in the Yorkshire Post, Bristol City are one side set to offer for the player before Thursday’s transfer deadline day but other sides in the second tier are also considering a bid.

Born in Hamburg, the midfielder joined Man City as a youngster before moving to Hillsborough in 2020 for an undisclosed fee.

He has since made nearly 50 appearances for the Owls in all competitions, scoring four times. His transfer could be offset by the addition of Nottingham Forest forward Alex Mighten, who is expected to sign on loan for the season.

Sheffield Wednesday currently sit third in League One having thrashed Forest Green 5-0 on Saturday to moe them within a point of top spot.
