Sheffield Wednesday are close to sealing their sixth summer signing after reportedly agreeing a £200,000 deal for Hull forward Mallik Wilks.
The 23-year-old netted 30 goals across 90 appearances during his time in League One and will be another excellent addition for Darren Moore’s side.
He netted 19 times in 44 league appearances for the Tigers during their promotion campaign in 2020/21 and was widely considered one of the best players in the third tier at the time.
His form dipped last year with injuries limiting him to 20 games in the Championship where he chipped in with three goals but this hasn’t put Darren Moore off bringing the player to Hillsborough, according to Hull Live.
Wilks has had loan spells at Accrington, Grimsby, Doncaster and Barnsley during his time at Leeds but found a more settled home at Hull City.

His versatility and pace will be the main attributes Darren Moore will look to exploit if the deal goes through, with the attacker comfortable on both flanks as well as being adept at playing through the middle.
The Owls have been signing some impressive players so far this summer with both Michael Ihiekwe and Michael Smith recently joining from last season’s League One runners-up, Rotherham.
Will Vaulks has also arrived from Cardiff City on a free while Ben Heneghan and David Stockdale add experience in defence and net respectively.
