Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has referred to a number of bids he has received for his players as ‘insulting’.

MacAnthony was referring to bids made for Aaron Champman, Callum Cooke, Mark O’Hara, and Matt Stevens. The chairman has said clubs need to “put up or shut up”. Speaking to the Peterborough Telegraph he said:

“Clubs need to get real with their offers, Forest Green offered us £25k for Matty Stevens, a prolific goalscorer wherever he’s played on loan and that’s nowhere near enough for us.

“We’ve also had offers for Cooke and O’Hara that have been paltry and disrespectful. We’ve had interest in Chapman, but nothing concrete.

“We’ve even had offers for Matty Godden which have been far below what we would expect, but we are happy to keep him anyway.”

MacAnthony also confirmed that fans favourite Ivan Toney will be staying at London Road, saying: “Ivan Toney has also attracted interest, but he won’t be going anywhere.”

Peterborough have a good record of commanding sizeable fees for their talent. Meanwhile, the Posh are said to be chasing Bolton midfielder, Luke Murphy. The Cambridgeshire side are hoping to sign the talented midfielder at a reduced price due to the Trotter’s current financial situation.
