Oxford boss Karl Robinson has been getting into an early festive spirit by listing some of his wishes for the January transfer window.
Matty Taylor, a fan favourite with the U’s, has been seen as a prime target for Robinson, as well as a winger and a left-back. He told Oxford Mail that he wanted to secure Taylor on a permanent deal.
Although the striker is on loan until the end of the season, his contract with Bristol City expires this summer:
“If you said to me ‘what’s your wish-list?’ I think we all know Matty Taylor is one we’d like to do.
“I think we need a flying winger, pure pace, something different to what we have, and left-back cover.
“That’s all I need.”
Robinson is very aware that United’s strong performances will be piquing the interests of scouts from other clubs. He is, however, keen to ensure the correct value is met for his players:
“The scouting list (for our games) is forever growing and we know who it will be for.
“These are things we have to make sure we get right.
“So our plan has to revolve around that.
“We’re ahead of the game at the moment.
“It’s important over the next six weeks that we keep ourselves ahead.”
