Oldham Athletic are aiming to swoop for two new players, D3D4 Football understands.
The League Two outfit are chasing the services of both Bury wing-back Callum McFadzean and Nottingham Forest forward Zach Clough as the pre-season program begins to ramp up.
The Latics have offloaded a number of their higher earners this summer while also appointing Laurent Banide as manager.
The team will be heading off to Morocco for 10 days next week and they are looking to strengthen the squad before they leave.
Callum McFadzean was an important part of the Bury squad that achieved promotion via the automatics last season. He often played at wing-back and was an excellent attacking outlet on the left.
During the course of the 2018-19 league campaign McFadzean created 18 chances, notched six assists and completed 30 key passes. He would fit in well on the Latics left with new addition, Zak Mills, on the right.
Oldham received £700,000 for defender George Edmundson who left for Rangers and the Latics chairman, Abdallah Lamsagam, got an excellent deal for the club in return for the 21-year-old.
Zach Clough is also a target for the Lancashire outfit with the former Rochdale loanee considering his options. Both players have a number of clubs chasing them and are yet to make a decision regarding their futures but they are the kind of targets that would excel in League Two and would be excellent additions at Boundary Park.
