Milton Keynes Dons are bracing themselves as both Blackburn and Swansea appear set for a bidding war to sign Matt O’Riley.
The star midfield player is being lined up by former boss Russell Martin, now with the Swans, and Championship form side Blackburn, according to reports.
The 21-year-old joined MK Dons last January from Fulham and has lit up League One ever since. This season he has netted seven goals and assisted on six others in 30 matches for Liam Manning’s outfit.
The third tier side do not want to sell their key midfielder but are bracing themselves for bids as interest in the player grows. According to Football Insider, both Swansea and Blackburn have already registered their interest in O’Riley.
He was brought in from Fulham by Russell Martin during the winter window last season and could join his former boss in South Wales should the Championship club meet MK Dons’ valuation.
Unbeaten in five, Liam Manning’s side are fresh off an impressive win at Fratton Park that propelled them into the play-off spots in League One. They will want to keep their talented squad together.
Swansea have already signed goalkeeper Andrew Fisher from the Buckinghamshire outfit and are also hoping to bring defender Harry Darling to the club.
MK Dons face Doncaster Rovers this weekend as they look to strengthen their position near the top of League One.
