It is that time in the season when owners, fans and indeed managers start to take stock of how they have started the new campaign.  Richard Armstrong, our Luton Town Correspondent, gives you his take on the start the Hatters have made in League Two…

Right so from Luton’s point of view it’s been a steady start. 4/5 wins at home with the only blip vs Swindon which of course wasn’t helped by an early sending off leading to a penalty.

The away form hasn’t been bad with just 1 defeat in the last minute at Barnet being the only blip. Decent away points at both Mansfield and Lincoln, a great win at Wycombe and an average point at Morecambe.

Best player?

I’m going to give my best player award to Marek Stech. 5 clean sheets out of 10. A couple of penalty saves and some vital stops during tight games.

Most Surprising player?

Jack Stacey has been fantastic so far and gets my surprising award. He is currently keeping James Justin out of the side. That’s no mean feat.

Performance against expectations?

And as I said our start has been steady. Plenty of room for improvement but were 2 points better off than last year at this stage. A big month ahead now with a lot of games vs the current top 7.
