Both Lincoln City and MK Dons are chasing the signing of Charlton Athletic winger Diallang Jaiyesimi, according to reports.

The 24-year-old could still have a future with Ben Garner’s side but is likely to find a move away from the London club attractive in order to get more game time.

The winger has only featured sporadically for The Addicks so far this season, setting up a goal on the opening day against Accrington and scoring the winner against Walsall in the League Cup, but he could see a move away for a more influential role beneficial to his career.

The former Norwich trainee has two years remaining on his contract at Charlton giving the Addicks leverage in any potential move.

According to Alan Nixon, both Lincoln City and MK Dons are targetting the player for a potential transfer, although he doesn’t state whether it could be on a permanent basis or on loan.

Jaiyesimi came to the attention of Charlton during his time with Swindon where, across two spells, he netted eight times in 44 appearances.

The player has not had the same impact since moving to London, netting four goals in 55 matches in all competitions. He faces some serious competition at the Valley, with wingers Charlie Kirk, Corey Blackett-Taylor and new signing Jesurun Rak-Sakyi all able to play out wide.

Lincoln City could be looking for a replacement for Anthony Scully who has been heavily linked to a number of teams in the Championship including Sunderland. Any money for Scully will be put back into the club coffers for squad improvement as admitted by manager Mark Kennedy when speaking to BBC Radio Lincolnshire.

“The club are brilliant. They don’t sell the players and then stick the money in their back pockets. They invest it back into the club so as long as things like that are the right decision from the club.

“Nobody likes to lose their best players, but if it is in the best interest of the club. I spoke to Clive (Nates) during the week and he has got my full support on that.”
