Micky Mellon believes the signing of Walsall winger Kieron Morris will be a massive boost to the Super White Army’s play-off push.
The Morris signing can be seen as something of a coup for Tranmere with the winger in good form for the League One club. Dean Keates has chosen to let the player go on loan to get consistent minutes and Mellon thinks it could help the club push for promotion.

“We’re really pleased. It’s something that we’ve wanted to do, bring in a winger of his quality.
“We love our wing players at this club so it was important that when we had the opportunity to sign such a good one, that we were able to do that,” Mellon told the Wirral Globe.
“We know how he plays so we’re looking forward to getting him out there and working with us.”
Morris was please to get the deal over the line and explained that playing for an ambitious club was a big factor behind his decision.
“I know it’s a big club with big ambitions. I knew from the fanbase and everything else that it is a massive club and I knew I’d like to come here,” he said.
“Now, I’m playing for Tranmere I just want to get a lot of games.
“I’ve got plenty of experience in the league and playing in League Two, it is a good league and sort of similar to League One and I’m looking to get started.
“Tranmere is a big Club, it is tight this league and we have a great chance to get in the Play-Offs and get promotion.
“It is a great opportunity to get promoted.”
D3D4 Football’s view
This was quite a surprising deal from our perspective as we felt that Morris still had a lot to offer Walsall this season.
He has scored five goals already this campaign including a belter away at AFC Wimbledon and a neat finish at the Memorial Stadium when the Saddlers picked up a 1-0 victory.
He also hit an excellent goal against Macclesfield in the Carabao Cup in a game which Walsall would eventually lose on penalties.
This season Morris has completed 50 successful take-ons, only Morgan Ferrier has completed more in the Saddlers side, while creating 14 chances despite not playing as many games as he would like.
In our view this is an excellent signing and one the Rovers fans should be excited about.
