Ipswich Town should look to sign Forest Green Rovers midfielder Reece Brown this summer with the 23-year-old being out of contract.

Brown has been one of the most outstanding talents in League Two this campaign and has reportedly caught the eye of several Championship suitors.

Ipswich may not be able to compete with some of the clubs in the division they have just been relegated from but the player could easily be persuaded if first team football is the deciding factor.

His manager recently admitted that Championship outfits ‘would be crazy’ not to be interested in bringing the star midfielder to their clubs but thinks Brown would need some assurances.

“I think Championship clubs would be crazy not to be interested in him but I think Reece will need assurances in terms of what role he will play, how the manager or coach sees him playing in their team and whether he’s going to be at the forefront of their thinking,” he said

“If not, he’s better off being somewhere where he knows he will play and knows he is highly thought of.”

Because of his age the Tractor Boys would need to pay compensation to Forest Green but given his talent this would still be a bargain buy.

During the 2018/19 season Reece Brown has completed the most passes (2,110) and the third most key passes (54) in League Two while also notching 13 assists and scoring 10 goals.

If Ipswich Town are smart they could build a team that has the ability to challenge for promotion without having to spend huge amounts of money which, given their reported financial situation, would be a massive bonus.
