Gillingham manager Steve Evans is keen to add former Forest Green centre back Farrend Rawson to his squad this summer.
Evans is familiar with the 23-year-old after taking him on loan at Rotherham when the defender was loaned from Derby County.
According to James Goodwin, the Gills manager is very keen to sign the player after he was released by the Green Devils earlier this week.
I'm led to believe Steve Evans would very much like to take Farrend Rawson to Gillingham if he can get to go ahead at a board meeting later this week.

It is thought that Evans will make his move if he gets permission from the board at a meeting later this week. The Gills are also expected to offer out of contract defender Max Ehmer a new deal due to his excellent performances at the heart of the Gills defence this season.
Rawson started his career at Derby County and was loaned out to a number of clubs during his time at Pride Park. He spent two spells at Rotherham including a brief stint under Steve Evans in 2015.
Rawson is strong in the air and was one of several surprise releases on the Forest Green released and retained list, which was made public on Monday.
Gillingham have made huge strides under Steve Evans this season and still had an outside chance at the play-offs when the campaign was curtailed due to the COVID-19 crisis.
It is expected that the Gills will be active in the transfer window with Max Ehmer, Brandon Hanlan, Mikael Mandron, Regan Charles-Cook and Henry Woods all out of contract this summer with a decision on their futures also expected to be made at the upcoming board meeting.
