We asked a fan of each team give us their thoughts on the 2018-19 season. Have a read of their responses and enjoy!

In  your opinion, how did 2018-19 go for your side?

If you said to most Gillingham Supporters before the start of The Season that Gillingham would end Thirteenth In League One and reach The Fourth Round Of The FA Cup, then we would have gladly taken that and I would have said that this season has been a very good season, However, this season has seen A League One Relegation Battle like no other where half of the division were still involved in the battle to avoid the drop with just a few games to go, and although Gillingham have ended Thirteenth In League One, The Gills finished just five points clear of The League One Relegation Zone.

And while ending Thirteenth In League One is a very good achievement, Had Gillingham not had that eight match winless run in August and September, Then we could be talking about a season where Gillingham are not battling to avoid the drop, which has been a reoccurring battle for Gillingham in recent season’s in League One.

2.What was your favourite moment in 2018-19?

The FA Cup Third Round Win 1-0 Against Cardiff City, Gillingham haven’t had a good run in The FA Cup in recent season’s, so to win 1-0 against Premier League Opposition In Cardiff City and to see Gillingham Football Club first on Match Of The Day the same evening for causing A FA Cup Upset was great to see.

Elliott List scored the winning goal and there was still time for Cardiff City to score an equaliser and force The Third Round Tie into A Third Round Replay At The Cardiff City Stadium, But Gillingham held on for The 1-0 Win against Cardiff City which was a fantastic result for The Gills.

3.What was your worst moment in 2018-19?

Plymouth Argyle 3-1 Gillingham – Traveling to Plymouth Argyle On A Tuesday Night is a very long away trip, And Gillingham fully deserved to lose against Plymouth Argyle 3-1 in a match which was a relegation six pointer for both sides at the time, But if the defeat was bad enough, it got much worse after the full time whistle, because The Fan Belt On The Supporters Coach broke and needed replacing, and by the time we had left Home Park, It was 11PM And I got home at 5AM On Wednesday Morning.

4.Which player impressed you the most on your team?

Barry Fuller – When Steve Lovell signed Barry Fuller in the summer, Most Gillingham Supporters thought that Barry Fuller would provide cover and competition for Luke O’Neill at Right Back and his experience would really benefit our young players off the pitch and on the training ground, But The Thirty Four Year Old Right Back has been exceptional for Gillingham This Season and won The Player Of The Season and The Away Player Of The Season Awards in Gillingham’s Presentation Evening, And even when Barry Fuller has played at Left Back, he has looked more then capable playing in that position.

5.Which opposition player made the biggest impression?

Marcus Maddison was instrumental for Peterborough United when they won 2-0 against Gillingham at London Road and Marcus Maddison really should be playing for A Championship Club Next Season (Sorry Peterborough United Supporters but Maddison is a quality player), And another player who I think has made the biggest impression this season is Freddie Ladapo, because Freddie Ladapo has scored against Gillingham playing for Plymouth Argyle, Oldham Athletic and Margate when Gillingham played against Margate In The Kent Senior Cup In The 2015 / 2016 Season.

6.What are your hopes for 2019-20?

To gradually improve on Thirteenth Position In League One and maybe try and cement ourselves a spot in the top ten, But the biggest improvement that is needed is for Gillingham is to turn Priestfield Stadium into a fortress for The 2019 / 2020 Season, Twelve Defeats at home in the league is disappointing to say the least, and this is also the second season in a row where Gillingham’s Away Form has been better than our home form.

7.Which area of the team needs most improvement for next season?

Attack – With Tom Eaves impending departure from Gillingham Football Club, the challenge for Gillingham’s New Manager is to try and find a replacement for Tom Eaves which is easier said then done, Because Tom Eaves has scored Forty Goals For Gillingham over the past two season’s, And even in matches where Tom Eaves hasn’t scored, he has still contributed to the team and I am sure that every Gillingham Supporter will wish Tom Eaves the very best whoever he sign’s for in the summer, because Eaves has been magnificent for Gillingham Football Club over the past two season’s.
