Notts County owner Alan Hardy has reportly received four bids from different interested parties to by the struggling Magpies.

The chairman is looking to sell after his personal businesses ran into financial trouble and he appears to have no shortage of suitors for the Nottinghamshire outfit.

It is thought that four different parties are bidding for the club and one of those is reportedly the current owner of Port Vale football club, Norman Smurthwaite.

The Vale chairman recently stated his reason for attending games at Meadow Lane was due to fan protests keeping him away from Vale Park but it now appears that he is the leading bidder.

Off all the offers it is thought that Smurthwaite’s is the most attractive but this will unlikely be news to lift the mood of supporters at the club.

As Vale fans would attest, the property owners time at the Burslem club has seen them go from a side aiming for promotion from League One to a club struggling at the bottom of the fourth tier.

He has been wanting out of Vale since 2016 and has threatened to put the club into administration if a deal to sell the club is not concluded by next week.

It is though that a deal worth around £4 million will soon be completed by a pair of local business owners which would allow Smurthwaite to become owner of Notts County.
