Former Cambridge playmaker Jevani Brown is set to make a loan move to League Two outfit Forest Green.
The Colchester atttacking midfielder has found opportunities hard to come by this season in Essex and the Green Devils are looking to take advantage by getting him on loan, according to reports.
The 25-year-old was seen as a big signing for the U’s this summer when he joined from rivals Cambridge for an undisclosed fee.
He started his career with MK Dons and Peterborough but he was released following disciplinary issues. Brown then found a home in non-league with St Neotts and he worked his way back into the EFL when Cambridge signed him in 2017.
While at the Abbey Stadium, he netted 13 goals in 75 appearances and became the club’s key playmaker, leading the side in both assists and completed key passes.
His move to Colchester last summer was seen as a coup for the Essex side but Brown has struggled to get regular game time and is now set to join Nailsworth based Forest Green.
It is thought the deal will see Mark Cooper’s side cover 100% of Brown’s wages but no deal has yet been confirmed by either club.
