Nottingham Forest have recalled striker Jason Cummings from his loan spell at Peterborough as League One clubs take interest.
Jason Cummings started this season on loan at Peterborough where he bagged six goals in his opening five League One appearances.
Since then he has only netted twice, both in the EFL Trophy, after falling out of favour with former manager Steve Evans.
Peterborough announced today that the striker has been recalled from his loan spell with immediate effect.
“Nottingham Forest and Peterborough United have mutually agreed to the immediate recall of Jason Cummings from his season-long loan,” Posh announced on Twitter.

The news will be of interest to a number of League One clubs who are all looking for a striker with only one day of the January transfer window remaining.
Who should sign the Forest striker?
There are several clubs looking for a striker and we have chosen five teams that we think will suit Jason Cummings.
Coventry City
The Sky Blues have created more chances in League One than any other team yet they have one of the worst strike rates in the division. The solution? Get a striker in and fast. Jason Cummings would be ideal and could be available immediately with Forest looking to get the player out to a club where he will get some game time.
Oxford United
Oxford are being heavily linked with Wigan striker James Vaughan but Cummings would also be a good option. The Yellows only have one fit striker in 32-year-old Jamie Mackie and are desperate for reinforcements. Karl Robinson has already confirmed that the chairman will push the boat out on wages in order to get a striker in before the window closes.
Charlton Athletic
Charlton have lost Karlan Grant, albeit, for a tidy sum to Premier League side Huddersfield Town. They are looking to bring in a striker to play up top with Lyle Taylor after already letting Nicky Ajose go on loan to Mansfield. Cummings would be an ideal signing and may be the player they look to should discussions with Bristol City over Mo Eisa come to nothing.
Plymouth Argyle
Argyle are looking for a forward and if their attempts to bring Sam Surridge to Home Park fail then Cummings could be their fall back. The Pilgrims have been in excellent form and you feel if they can get someone in to back up Freddie Ladapo and Ruben Lamieras then they might be able to climb the table quite quickly.
Shrewsbury Town
The Shrews don’t have a lot of money but a loan deal for Cummings might be doable. They are right in the relegation dog-fight after some farcical defending cost them a point at Valley Parade on Tuesday. They are far too reliant on Okenabirhie for goals and Sam Smith is highly unlikely to solve those issues. Could be a long shot but well worth a punt.
