Forest Green Rovers midfielder George Williams has been left with a broken leg following their game against Oldham Athletic on Saturday.
Williams was left with a broken fibula and sustained some soft tissue damage following a robust tackle from Latics defender Zak Mills, according to Gloucestershire Live. Mills was warned about the challenge, but the home fans were disappointed to see him walk away without a card.

Rovers boss Mark Cooper has slammed the challenge, claiming that more is needed to be done to protect players:
“I don’t think he’s in a good way.
“It’s a horrendous tackle. We talk about all these rules, like handballs, offsides, making sure you leave the pitch at the nearest point and then we get two-footed tackles, off the floor, and nothing is done about it.
“Not even a yellow card. Sort it out.”
Well that wasn’t the start I wanted to my season. Life’s not fair sometimes, but I’ve been here before and I promise to come back better and stronger. Thank you for all the messages, they mean a lot 💚 @FGRFC_Official
