Doncaster Rovers are hoping to sign Stoke City stopper Josef Bursik on loan, according to reports.

Darren Moore’s side are in need of as keeper after Senny Dieng returned to parent club QPR following his loan spell at the Keepmoat last season.

Recruitment has been slow for Donny thus far, with the addition of Jason Lokilo the only business done up to this point. They are keen to add new players to the squad and Bursik is a priority, according to Alan Nixon.

The issue appears to be around one of Stoke’s other goalkeepers potentially leaving the club with the Championship side not wanting to leave themselves short in net.

Bursik spent last season on loan at Accrington Stanley in League One where he made 20 appearances for John Coleman’s side.

He is highly thought of by the Potters coaching team and the club persuaded him to sign a new three-year deal in January, committing his long-term future to Micheal O’Neill’s outfit.

Bursik is still only 20-years-old and has represented England at U17, U18, U19 and U20 levels during his short career so far.
