Derby County are considering a move to land former Leeds United forward Kemar Roofe from Rangers, according to reports.
The 29-year-old has scored 34 goals in 72 competitive games for the Glasgow club including 16 last season but injuries have been a constant problem during his time at Ibrox.
According to the Sunday Mirror, League One Derby County are weighing up a loan move for the player who Rangers signed from Anderlecht back in 2020.
Roofe came to the fore when he joined Oxford United in a loan move from West Brom in January 2015. He would make the move permanent the following season.
Under Michael Appleton he would score 26 times in 48 games including 18 in League Two to help the Yellows win automatic promotion.
Derby face Oxford at Pride Park on the opening day of the season and have been busy building a strong squad ahead of the new campaign.
Korey Smith is the latest addition, arriving as a free agent following his exit from Swansea City. They also added James Collins, a proven striker in the third tier, and midfield stars Conor Hourihane and Tom Burkhuizen.
Roofe would be a very impressive capture for a League One club and if he stays fit, would likely be a key player for Liam Rosenior’s side.
