Coventry City are plotting a move to sign highly-rated Stourbridge winger Chay Tilt.

The former QPR man has been making a big impression in the Southern League Premier Central this season. The 22-year-old is being watched closely by Coventry’s scouting team who have been to see the winger in action on several occasions, according to the Football Insider.

His efforts for Stourbridge helped the club reach the first round of the FA Cup which they lost in a replay to National League outfit Eastleigh.

During the 3-0 defeat at the Silverlake Stadium, Tilt played upfront showing his versatility – another reason the Sky Blues are chasing his signature.

They will face competition for the player with National League side Solihull Moors already launching a bid while other EFL clubs have also made enquiries.

Coventry have an excellent reputation at bringing through young players and their scouting team is also considered one of the best in the Football League.

This could be a major pulling factor for the Stourbridge man who is the nephew of Blackpool defender Curtis Tilt. Chay started his career with West Brom before heading to Shepherd’s Bush to play for QPR.

He was released by the Super Hoops during the summer and is currently on non-contract terms with the non-league, Midlands outfit.

Stourbridge expect the player, who has scored five times in 10 games this season, to leave in January and Coventry are currently leading the race to land his signature.
