Adam Turner, D3D4 Crewe Alexandra Correspondent

A Crewe Alex fan for the last 25 years (longer the majority of our squad has been alive). In that time, I have witnessed the highs and the far more regular lows. I can be seen sharing my ‘wisdom’ in various forms of social media.

1.Team Supported: Crewe Alexandra

2.First Match Attended & the Year: York City 1-1 Crewe Alexandra (York won 5-3 on penalties), Wembley Stadium, 1993 – I was 7, Gareth Whalley missed the crucial penalty…. this set me up well for suffering all of the blows that being a Crewe fan provides every season.

3.Most Memorable Match: Southend 2-2 Crewe – League 2 Playoff Final 2nd Leg – A Nick Powell led Crewe side led us to Wembley. There were so many up and downs it felt like I had been 12 rounds with Tyson by the end!

4.Your favourite player of all time: Dean Ashton. I will probably never see a player as talented in a Crewe top again.

5.Things you like least about modern football: The modern format of The EFL Trophy. Potentially a real threat to lower league football.

6.Favourite flavour crisps: Salt & Vinegar – classic!!
