Bury’s Tom Miller has hit out at chairman Steve Dale over unpaid wages on twitter. The defender took to the social media platform to say:

“If anybody knows where the chairman is can they let him know that he is meant to pay his staff or at least attempt too at some point?”

The tweet was followed by clown and Pinocchio emojis, suggesting the controversial owner has broken assurances; he had previously promised to pay residual wages for March and April

This news comes a week after the club was put on sale, with Dale stating that £1.6 million was needed to cover wages, HMRC bills and pensions until the end of May, with a projected income of just £180,000.

Steve Dale only took over the Lancashire-based club in December but the worsening financial situation has made life difficult for the cash-strapped owner.

The Shakers are set to return to court on the 15th May, facing a winding up petition over unpaid HMRC bills totalling £227,000 and payments will have to be made this upcoming week according to lawyers.

Bury FC have recently won promotion to League One, but the events of the coming week could prove just as influential for The Shakers.
