Both Bradford City and Bolton Wanderers are in contract talks to sign Crawley Town winger Filipe Morais, according to reports.
Morais spent last season on loan at Oldham Athletic after indicating he wanted to move closer to home in the north of the country and with his contract up this summer, Bolton and Bradford are both chasing the 34-year-old.
According to Football Insider, the Portuguese wideman is Ian Evatt’s top target at the University of Bolton Stadium but they will face competition from the Bantams.
Stuart McCall is very fond of Morais and he holds a place in the heart of the supporters at Valley Parade having been part of Phil Parkinson’s side that famously beat Chelsea 4-2 at Stamford Bridge in the FA Cup.
Indeed, Morais was on the scoresheet that day but he has also spent time with the Trotters in the past, playing 36 times for them in 2017-18.
Bolton have already signed Eoin Doyle during this summer, a player who netted 25 goals in League Two with Swindon in 2019-20, helping the Robins win the title.
It remains to be seen who will be able to persuade the veteran to sign on the dotted line but, despite his advancing years, he is still considered to be an excellent player at this level.
