Despite all their problems off the pitch Bolton Wanderers are still busy planning for next season as they hope to sign a defender to bolster their ranks.
The Trotters are looking to bring in international defender Alie Sesay according to reports but they will be facing stiff competition for his services.
The player is currently plying his trade in Greece with second division side AO Chania Kissamikos and his performances this season have alerted the big guns as both AEK and Panathinaikos are showing an interest.
The former Leicester City trainee has impressed during his 28 appearances this campaign and is out of contract next month.
The 24-year-old could well be tempted to return to England though Bolton’s financial situation is a factor.
If Phil Parkinson is going to rebuild for next season a player like Sesay will fit the bill. He is available on a free, can play in a number of positions including anywhere along the backline and in central midfield and will be unlikely to demand high wages.
Sesay, a Sierra Leone international, didn’t make a first team appearance during his time with Leicester City but did get game time at both Colchester and Cambridge while out on loan.
