IMPS LOOK TO MAKE FAST START IN RETURN TO LEAGUE.
Lincoln City will look to make a fast start to their return to the E.F.L after their six years absence. After last season’s remarkable season, the Imps will be confident of a good start.
A busy pre-season inwords the transfer market saw the Cowley brothers make the signing of the summer bringing in the vastly experienced Michael ’ Bossie ‘ Bostwick from first division Peterborough United, beating off stiff competition from bigger clubs. Harry Anderson also joins from Peterborough, who spent a large part of last season on loan from the Posh, he has come in with a three year deal.
Excellent season long loans bring in Josh Ginnelly from Premiership Burnley and the sought after Josh Maguire-Drew from premiership newcomers Brighton and Hove Albion. Today Rob Dickie has joined the Imps from Reading on a six month loan prior to signing permanently, a well sought after central defender who can also play at full back.
Earlier in the pre-season, experienced Matt Green joined from Mansfield Town, one of Lincolns fierce local rivals for the coming season.
Perhaps the biggest news was the contract extension of midfield maestro and multiple awards winner Alex Woodyard.
The Cowley’s are under no illusions of the task facing them, but after record season ticket sales of 6000, Imps fans are expecting another exciting season, and many feel the playoffs are a must. With many big clubs in the division including Coventry and Swindon, a period of consolidation might be the early season requirement
