This week D3D4 Rotherham United Correspondent Ian Bradley gives his predictions ahead of the League One fixtures

AFC WIMBLEDON v WIGAN ATHLETIC Great news for the Dons after their plans to move back to their spiritual home of Plough Lane was finally passed but I don’t think their celebrations will last until after Saturday evening. Wigan IMO are League One’s best side & their recent form is scintillating. Will Grigg is certainly on fire right now & is scoring for fun. PREDICTION Away Win

BLACKBURN ROVERS v CHARLTON ATHLETIC A clash of two of the divisions heavyweights & both are rightly tipped to be amongst the promotion favourites. Blackburn are hitting form right now whereas the Addicks have had one or two surprise reverses lately, not least last weekend’s home defeat by Pompey. PREDICTION  Home Win

DONCASTER ROVERS v OLDHAM ATHLETIC Rovers are struggling in the League lately but I think they are a better side than their position indicates. Oldham have been one of the divisions form sides since Wellens took over as manager & have had some fine results but a win at the Keepmoat is always a difficult ask so it’s back on the fence for me. PREDICTION Score Draw

GILLINGHAM v BRISTOL ROVERS While the Gills League position hasn’t improved a lot lately their performances have & in Josh Parker have one of the better forward players in the division. Gas will be looking to build on their fine recent home wins over Rotherham & Southend but their away record isn’t the best. PREDICTION  Home Win

NORTHAMPTON TOWN v WALSALL Jimmy Floyd is having quite a torrid time at Sixfields right now with his team out of form & poor attendances while Walsall looked to have turned a corner under boss Jon Whitney who was feeling the pressure a while ago but after a run of three straight League wins things are looking better & any League 1 side that has Erhun Oztumer in it has a chance. PREDICTION  Away Win

Kenny Jackett’s mid table Pompey side go into this weekend’s clash with rock bottom Bury full of confidence after last weekend’s fine 1-0 win at the Valley. New Bury boss Chris Lucketti despite their recent astonishing 1-0 win over high flying Shrewsbury has his work cut out at Gigg Lane. His side looks low on confidence & are conceding far too many goals. PREDICTION  Home Win

ROCHDALE v OXFORD UNITED Keith Hill’s Dale are struggling in the League winning only 4 out of their 20 league games so far but are flying in the FA Cup, easily dispatching non league Slough 4-0 recently. They take on inconsistent Oxford who are full of goals but cannot seem to string a run of results together. PREDICTION Score Draw

ROTHERHAM UNITED v PLYMOUTH ARGYLE Paul Warne’s Millers will be looking to carry on from their richly deserved win at Blackpool last time out. The Millers will still be without top scorer Kieffer Moore who is serving the second of a three game ban for his recent red card v Bristol Rovers. The win at Bloomfield Road was Rotherham’s first in EIGHT League 1 games & are coming up against Derek Adams’ rapidly improving Argyle. They will be fresh from their fine 2-1 victory against fellow strugglers Gillingham, a game which saw ex Miller Ryan Taylor return to the side after injury. Striker Taylor scored for Oxford in their 3-2 FA Cup victory at NYS last season & I confidently expect him to do the same for Argyle at the same venue this weekend. PREDICTION  Score Draw

SCUNTHORPE UNITED v M K DONS. Graham Alexander’s Iron are one of the better sides in League 1 & while they aren’t really prolific in front of goal, they possess one of the meanest defences only conceding 15 goals in 21 matches so far, a fine record. Robbie Neillson’s MK side are another inconsistent outfit, good on their day with striker Kieran Agard coming back to form. PREDICTION  Home Win

SHREWSBURY TOWN v BLACKPOOL Paul Hurst’s Shrews have been the divisions surprise package so far this season but just recently have suffered a dip in form suffering surprise defeats against Walsall & Bury. This weekend they host Gary Bowyers Blackpool who have themselves suffered a recent dip in form but have had a decent season so far after last season’s promotion especially when you bear in mind the poor attendances & their well publicised off the field troubles. PREDICTION   No Score Draw

SOUTHEND UNITED v BRADFORD CITY Phil Brown’s mid table Shrimpers side have an identical League record so far. Out of 21 matches they’ve won 7, drawn 7 & lost 7 games. They host promotion favourites Bradford at Roots Hall this weekend. The Bantams look a difficult test & are in good form ATM under the stewardship of club legend Stuart McCall. PREDICTION  Away Win
