A look ahead at all the FA Cup 3rd Round ties involving League One and Two clubs…

FA CUP PREVIEW

Fleetwood Town v Leicester City

Fleetwood added Paddy Madden to their rank in hope of firing up their limping attack. Whether they can hold back an impressive Leicester City is another thing. Puel’s men have looked more like the title winning team of 2016 this season and play a fast attacking style that should see the Premier League outfit safely through. Prediction away win

Aston Villa v Peterborough United

Villa host the Posh in what should be a classic FA Cup tie at Villa Park. Peterborough have shown they can find the net with both Lloyd and Marriott coming into form. Villa are unbeaten in their last five at home games and will be heavy favourites. Prediction home win

Blackburn Rovers v Hull City

This one has upset written all over it with an in-form Rovers hosting a toothless Tigers. Hull have won just once since October the 21st and have lost their last three on the road. Prediction home win

AFC Bournemouth v Wigan Athletic

This will be an interesting test for the Latics against a side that share their footballing philosophy. Wigan may be top of League One but Bournemouth have been excellent of late after a slow start in the Premier League. They are unbeaten in three following the three straight losses to Liverpool, Man City and Man Utd. Prediction draw

Brentford v Notts County

FA Cup games like this can always be a marker of where a team needs to be in order to reach their goals and this will be the case here for County. They are aiming for the Championship and face a Bees team that play quick passing football. I think they will fall short but will give a good account of themselves. Prediction home win

Cardiff City v Mansfield Town

Cardiff have been on a difficult run so the Stags might look to take advantage. Steve Evans has made his side hard to beat and will be hoping for a cup run. Neil Warnock will look to make sure the four game losing streak stops here. Prediction home win

Carlisle United v Sheffield Wednesday

Big chance for the Cumbrians to pack out Brunton Park and put pressure on a side with only one win in the last 10 games. Keith Curle is hoping he will be given a new contract to continue the work he has done since taking the job in 2014. Prediction home win

Coventry City v Stoke City

Big chance of an upset here and more pressure being put on Mark Hughes who is beginning to look like a dead man walking. Coventry will need to be more prolific and McNulty has come into form over the last few games. Stoke have a habit of beating the weaker teams so I think they will edge this one. Prediction away win

Doncaster Rovers v Rochdale

Rochdale show no signs of lifting themselves and Doncaster have proven they are good at home. It will be a close match up but if May and Marquis carry on the form that they have been in then I can’t see past Donnie in this one. Prediction home win

Exeter City v West Bromwich Albion

Alan Pardew will be fielding a strong team in Devon as he tries to kick the losing habit. WBA have not tasted victory in the Premier League in 20 games now and they are deep in relegation trouble. Exeter are good at home and will provide stiff opposition but can’t see them beating a strong Baggies outfit, they might force a replay though. Prediction draw

Newcastle United v Luton Town

The one we have all been waiting for as a 7,000 strong Hatters army travel northto watch their table toppers take on a stuttering Magpies. Newcastle have not won at home since October 21st and will be shocked at how good Luton can be. The result will all depend upon whether the Hatters stars turn up but everyone will be hoping they do. Prediction away win

Q.P.R. v MK Dons

MK Dons have had a dreadful season no doubt but they have played well in the cup so far. Although Q.P.R. are not the strongest Championship team I still think they will see off Milton Keynes. Prediction home win

Stevenage v Reading

Reading will see a lot of the ball in this one and will be hoping to come away with a win but they will have to watch out for Newton and Godden. Reading have only won once in their last five away games which will give Boro encouragement so I expect this one to be close. Prediction draw

Wycombe Wanderers v Preston North End

This is an intriguing match up. The Chairboys are good at Adams Park but Preston have only lost away from home three times all season. Akinfenwa is a handful but North End have a very impressive defensive record and should be able to handle the Wycombe set piece threat. Prediction away win

Yeovil Town v Bradford City

Bradford on the road equals a win and this should be no exception. Huish Park is not the easiest of venues but the Bantams are a strong side and Yeovil will struggle to compete. Prediction away win

Newport County v Leeds United

Newport welcome Leeds to Rodney Parade in hope they can cause an upset. It is going to be a tough ask but it will just be nice to see a full house. Leeds have been solid all season and are currently in the play-off places in the Championship so I think they will have enough to win here. Prediction away win

Shrewsbury Town v West Ham United

Great to see the Shrews draw a Premier League team and I can’t wait to see them test their metal against the Hammers. I think they will have to work hard to contain a West Ham side that have been a lot better under David Moyes but will create chances of their own. West Ham have conceded a very poor 1.82 goals a game this season so are vulnerable at the back and I can see this one heading back to London. Prediction draw

Tottenham Hotspurs v AFC Wimbledon

As much as I love a fairy tale in football I can’t see Wimbledon getting anything from Wembley. Will be a great occasion for the club and I hope everyone enjoys it. Prediction home win
